Our policy is to include as wide a range of activities as is possible, to create a wealth of stimulus, and experiences, in order to enhance children’s holistic development.

We therefore encompass learning strategies into all activities. We ‘teach’ life-skills, which allow children to become independent. We are also acutely aware of fine and gross motor skills, which are all catered for on a daily basis.

Sensory, and colour activities are prepared along with shape activities. Themes, and role play are all considered important in the development of language and literacy skills, for which we have an excellent reputation. Numeracy begins with rhymes, matching and sorting games, and all children proceed at their own pace with active encouragement.

We learn about the world, other countries, and where we live. Nature and gardening are areas of the curriculum, which develop a child’s awareness. Physical skills are taught, and children can earn ‘British Association of Gymnasts Award’ badges for competence in this area. Music and movement encourages a love of listening, co-ordination and confidence, and an ability to understand simple rhythm and composition.

All in all we feel that our curriculum is excellent, and flexibility allows for individual progress to be made.
