A cycle conference is much more than just the formal proceedings. Of course it is an excellent opportunity to connect up with colleagues and friends from previous conferences, meet new acquaintances, swap ideas and gain inspiration from others.

Therefore we will be providing the normal range of associated cultural events to the conference. Please note that they all have yet to be confirmed.

Friday Night

These will include a Friday night session in the Lord Rodney pub. If you can get there before xxpm then food will also be available. Please let us know if you will be wanting a meal and we can warn the landlord.

Saturday Night

We have booked Shelley's restaurant in Warrington where we can get a good meal at a reasonable price. It is just around the corner from the conference venue.

Sunday Morning

We have two rides arranged :-

  1. Well many of you will have seen some of Warrington streets on the Facility of the Month page of our website. To be truthful there are also some good facilities in Warrington and we will be taking a cycle ride around the best and worst of these before heading out to Warrington's own Cycle Museum at Walton Hall.

  2. A longer ride into the Cheshire countryside is being arranged by St. Helens &
District CTC. This will be about 45 miles.

A meal at a local pub will then be optional.

Many thanks to Urban Engineering for their generous support to the conference. Urban Engineering produce excellent cycle storage and shelters as well as other street furniture. They work with Sustrans on improving cycle storage in schools and will be exhibiting at "Streets Ahead".

Please take a look at their website to view their product range and details of grant assistance for cycle facilities for schools.

Warrington Cycle Campaign has over 200 members and is committed to making better use of the roads for all sectors of the community. Our main objectives are:-
  • A safer environment by the adoption of a 20mph speed limit in all urban areas

  • On-road cycle training for all children

  • Developing the "Safe Routes to School" program

  • Better account taken for the needs of cyclists at road junctions and roundabouts

  • Responsible cycling - using lights at night and respecting pedestrians
